Former Teacher Makes an Impact As A Counselor

Sherri Hobbs taught Kindergarten for 28 years, including 20 years in Stafford.

Almost a decade ago, she decided to earn a Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of St. Thomas.

“As a teacher, I saw such a need for it, to help students with what they’re dealing with in their lives,” Hobbs said. “I wanted to have a larger impact with more students.”

Hobbs is in her third year as a School Counselor at Stafford Elementary.

“I love going into the classroom to talk to students about good character traits,” Hobbs said. “The kids are the best part of the job. They make my day.”

A Stafford citizen, Hobbs is the proud parent of two Stafford MSD Graduates. She’s also the President of the Stafford Band Boosters – a position she has held for the past 13 years.

“Stafford is my heart,” Hobbs said.
