Safety

The safety and security of our students and staff is the top priority at SMSD!

Stafford MSD has a model Emergency Procedures Plan and Handbook that meets all requirements as outlined by the Texas School Safety Center and the requirements listed in the Texas School Safety Center District Audit Report. We also work in partnership with the City of Stafford; we have direct access to their Emergency Management Coordinator and have full-time Stafford police officers working in our school district to continually monitor our schools, both in our hallways and through the use of our extensive school surveillance system which has over 140 interior and exterior cameras.

SMSD also works with representatives of the Fort Bend County Emergency Management division who provide their expertise and services to the district. In addition, the SMSD Board of Trustees has always maintained safety as a priority. Several years ago the Board approved security measures that included equipping all campuses with the Raptor ID scan system and electronic access doors. Only visitors who have cleared our ID notification system and have a valid purpose for being in our schools are given access to our campuses.
